چکیده

Heat stress (HS) has been considered as a severe threat to crop yields in recent years. Sucrose, major product of photosynthesis, plays an important role plant growth and response. Sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) is key rate-limiting enzyme the sucrose synthesis pathway plants. However, its molecular mechanism signaling remain unclear. In this study, we identified novel SPS gene (SlSPS) tomato generated over-expression knock-out SlSPS transgenic plants investigate biological functions related thermotolerance tomato. Over-expression increased biomass plants, such fresh weight, dry height, fruit weight root length. contrast, decreased Under heat stress, survival rates were positively correlated with expression level different varieties. Furthermore, SlSPS-overexpressing showed higher activity content resistant phenotypes. By comparison, lower susceptible stress. The determination several reference values oxidative parameters also consistent their resistance these summary, could mediate

Sucrose phosphate synthase and sucrose phosphate phosphatase interact in planta and promote plant growth and biomass accumulation

Bioinformatic analysis indicates that sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) contains a putative C-terminal sucrose phosphate phosphatase (SPP)-like domain that may facilitates the binding of SPP. If an SPS-SPP enzyme complex exists, it may provide sucrose biosynthesis with an additional level of regulation, forming a direct metabolic channel for sucrose-6-phosphate between these two enzymes. Herein,...

Effect of N-source on soybean leaf sucrose phosphate synthase, starch formation, and whole plant growth.

Soybeans (Glycine max L. Merr. cv Tracy and Ransom) were grown under N(2)-dependent or NO(3) (-)-supplied conditions, and the partitioning of photosynthate and dry matter was characterized. Although no treatment effects on photosynthetic rates were observed, NO(3) (-)-supplied plants in both cultivars had lower starch accumulation rates than N(2)-dependent plants. Leaf extracts of NO(3) (-)-sup...

Expression of a maize sucrose phosphate synthase in tomato alters leaf carbohydrate partitioning.

We isolated a complementary DNA sequence for the enzyme sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) from maize utilizing a limited amino acid sequence. The 3509-bp cDNA encodes a 1068-amino acid polypeptide. The identity of the cDNA was confirmed by the ability of the cloned sequence to direct sucrose phosphate synthesis in Escherichia coli. Because no plant-specific factors were necessary for enzymatic a...

Sucrose phosphate synthase and sucrose accumulation at low temperature.

The influence of growth temperature on the free sugar and sucrose phosphate synthase content and activity of spinach (Spinacia oleracea) leaf tissue was studied. When plants were grown at 25 degrees C for 3 weeks and then transferred to a constant 5 degrees C, sucrose, glucose, and fructose accumulated to high levels during a 14-d period. Predawn sugar levels increased from 14- to 20-fold over ...

Elevated sucrose-phosphate synthase activity in

Constitutive over-expression of a maize sucrosephosphate synthase (SPS) gene in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) had major effects on leaf carbohydrate budgets with consequences for whole plant development. Transgenic tobacco plants ̄owered earlier and had greater ̄ower numbers than wild-type plants. These changes were not linked to modi®ed source leaf carbon assimilation or carbon export, although ...
